James L. Stroud

James L. Stroud practices in the area of family law and handles divorce, child custody, child support, spousal maintenance, paternity, separation, and pre-marital agreements. He is certified as a specialist in family law by the State Bar of Arizona, is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and an AV rated lawyer by the Martindale-Hubbell organization. He is also the former chair of the family section of the State Bar and co-chair of the family law section of the Pima County Bar Association. Jim is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, 1989 through current edition.

Jim regularly serves on court and bar committees. He served on the governor's committee that drafted the Arizona Child Support Guidelines, as well as the Arizona Supreme Court committee to review and revise those guidelines. He has served on committees to draft rules pertaining to family law and is presently vice chair of the commission of the State Bar of Arizona that tests and evaluates applicants seeking to be certified as specialists in family law.

Jim studied speech communication as a graduate student at the University of Southern California after receiving his bachelor of arts degree at the University of Arizona. He is a 1974 graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law. He and his wife, also a lawyer, have one child.
